I must have known Clint for three months before I asked the full time engineer to model. This just goes to show you some of the best models can be right under your nose. Now if I only had a little more courage to go up to more random guys at the gym.

Often times I come up with a shoot idea and then contact make-up artists. However, when Make-up Artist Brandon Phillips called me about a shoot he wanted to do, I was all ears. The retro boutique he lined up was amazing and the pictures we came up with pleased me equally.

Brandon, a Detroit native can really bring it. Normally I feature larger models on this blog, but this self proclaimed ‘thin African-American model’ has a great look and skills.

Stylist Isaac King and I decided to do a lifestyle shoot with three tall good looking black models: Jaquez Andre, Sherrod Antionne, and Isaiah Ross. Sherrod was only there for a minute, Isaac cast Isaiah and I cast Jaquez. [...]

At 6-2 189 pounds Clifford Doyle is a formidable model. The 29-year-old hair stylist’s presence surely brings all the girls and boys to the yard.

The moment Sean walked through the door… I was like “whoa.” His facial features are so distinctive – he was made to model. Right off the bat, stylist Isaac King and I leaned in to one another and whispered, “now were going to get some pictures.”

After spending a cold Chicago winter cooped up in the studio, I was itching to get outside. The first day over 55F we took Deric Mickens to a construction site and a demolition project so we could shoot swimwear and spring fashion. Once the sun had set, we headed back to the studio to finish [...]
